Simon Cowell is more than ever happy to have settled in with Lauren Silverman, the mother of his one-year-old son Eric.
But today, the X Factor tycoon is speaking openly for the first time about stealing his best friend’s wife and getting her pregnant, and he humbly admits he regrets his actions.
When Silverman began an affair with Cowell, she was married to Andrew Silverman, a property developer who was a friend of Cowell’s. After she became pregnant in July 2013, the news about their relationship leaked out.
For years, the two had an affair behind Andrew’s back.
Cowell, 56, tells Mail on Sunday Event magazine: ‘I’m not proud of the circumstances, I can’t stop thinking about it.’

The 56-year-old says he was surprised to learn that Lauren, who had a son named Adam with her ex-husband, was carrying his child.
He admits it wasn’t planned, and he only found out after an assistant called him out of a meeting to tell his girlfriend to speak to him right away.
He says, ‘This was not something I intended. But I remember going to the first scan with Lauren.
“I called him Tad because he looked like a tadpole. Something just came up. I felt incredibly protective of both of them. I just absolutely wanted it. I just didn’t know that before.’
Eric was born on February 14, 2014 and is named after Cowell’s late father. He taught the 10-month-old to share and say please and thank you, according to Cowell.
In the rare, extended interview, Cowell reveals that parenthood has completely changed him, and he shares personal details about his newfound family life. Lauren, 38, is now divorced, but Cowell won’t talk about marriage preparations, and the multi-millionaire claims he’s not a “conventional father” to Eric, who is 21 months old, in part because he’s not a “conventional father.” Man.’
Simon and Lauren, now separated from Andrew, are deeply in love, and he is enjoying his new role as a father – despite the fact that he doesn’t change diapers.
He says he cherishes his child.
Cowell, who is reportedly worth $500 million, has admitted he doesn’t want to leave his significant fortune to his son.
“I don’t like the idea of just passing it on from generation to generation,” he explains.
“I mean, I think that’s kind of disgusting. No one has ever given me a cent and I believe part of my drive had to do with the fact that I had nothing to lose. You get a lot of energy from that.”
