If there is anything that can prove that there is at least an ounce of purity and goodness in this world, it is a golden retriever puppy. You may have looked at the Golden Retriever puppies in the photos above and already feel the warm fuzz in your heart.

Golden Retrievers are somehow both majestic and utterly silly; they are great goofballs and compassionate listeners at the same time.

If you’ve decided a little Golden Retriever puppy is right for your family – what, let’s face it, there are very few reasons why they should not are right for you – here are some things to expect once you are to adopt that fluffy ball of energy and slobbering kisses.

They are like a natural antidepressant

Golden Retriever puppy eyes have a kind of magic. One look and an instantaneous calm will likely engulf you; stress just melts away.

Why do you ask that? Golden Retrievers are notoriously loyal and obedient and form very strong bonds with their human “pack.” As a loyal part of your pack, your Golden pup will radiate nothing but infectious joy from their soulful and loving eyes.

It’s no wonder that so many Golden puppies grow up to be so amazing therapy dogs.

You probably look good, but there’s no doubt that a photo of your Golden Retriever puppy wearing old glasses will get more likes than all your selfies combined.

They can look crazy with their big crazy grin. Or they can look stoic and wise beyond their years with their striking deep brown eyes.

As a puppy, your Golden will go from being a cute fluff ball to a puppy tween who has limbs and paws that don’t seem to match the rest of their torso. A Golden Retriever puppy’s front legs can look even shorter than their hind legs from the age of five months to a year which will only add to the “Awwww!” sensation that every photo will evoke.

If you’re planning on getting a Golden puppy in the near future, consider upgrading your phone storage for the large amount of photos you’ll be taking. #CutenessOverload

    Everything they do is cute

Just watching your pup go from an adorable average of ten pounds right when you get them at eight weeks old, to a hefty 70 pounds by the end of the year, is cuter than anything you could possibly imagine.

Except going to the bathroom outside – that’s cute. So will sit if they are told. Or fall asleep on your lap.

Perhaps the cutest thing is to “accidentally” remove all the toilet paper from the roll. Or it’s cutest to have your pup discreetly chew your brand new pair of sneakers in their new closet. THERE ARE TOO MANY FUN THINGS.

Literally anything will be cute and merry when done by a Golden Retriever puppy — even the behavior that, by all logic, should irritate you endlessly.

They tend to get along with Everybody

Goldens have great dispositions and get along with just about anyone. This is a good thing because a puppy this cute is sure to become popular.

Golden Retriever puppies make friends with children, adults and other animals while maintaining their signature smiles on their faces.

In fact, they are so friendly that they may not be the best bet when looking for guard dogs; a Golden will usually greet any stranger, including during a break-in, with a welcoming smile on their face.

But they will love you the best

Again, the loyalty of a Golden Retriever puppy cannot be overstated; it’s strong.

Golden Retriever puppies are some of the most popular dogs in the United States, and it’s easy to see why. At the end of the day, your athletic, big legged, adventurous, silly and loving Golden pup will have eyes for nothing but you.

Remember, you can find just about any breed of dog you look for in a shelter or rescue. You can even check DogTime’s adoption page to search for shelter dogs of any breed in your area.
