East Rockaway, NY – After PETA notified the USDA of a live Facebook video posted by animal exploiter Larry Wallach showing him administering electric shock to a young tiger named Shiba, holding her in a dilapidated enclosure, and addressing with her in a dangerous and inhuman manner, the agency cited Wallach for numerous violations of federal animal welfare laws. These include not following veterinary instructions for treating Shiba’s broken toe, enclosing her with broken floorboards, putting her and the wolf at risk of injury by allowing them to interact, and not having proper fencing to prevent her from escaping.

However, despite a ruling expressly stating that physical abuse should not be used against animals, USDA not Wallach is cited for electrocuting Shebu, thereby sending a message that he can continue to use the torture device with enthusiasm and without repercussions.

“Animals are in danger every minute they spend in confinement with this sadistic exhibitor,” says Michelle Sinnott, Esq., The PETA Foundation’s Deputy Director of Captive Law Enforcement. “PETA is now urging the feds to end its license and the public to help end this atrocity by avoiding backyard animal exploitation businesses like the plague.”

PETA – whose motto, in part, is that “the animals are not ours to be used for fun” – notes that the USDA previously quoted Wallach for many animal welfare violations, including for locking a cub in kennel in his cluttered garage. not feeding the cubs an appropriate diet and letting humans interact with young tigers, which is dangerous.

PETA stands against racism, a worldview based on human superiority. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…
