Angels – After former international figure skater and vegan adult film star Jada Kai revealed that he saw snakes being transported in refrigerators for lunch and draped over the bodies of actors on the set of a former Boy meets the world Maitland Ward Baxter actor Mistress Maitland 2PETA sent an urgent appeal to Vixen Media Group, which quickly shut down the reptiles.
“Snakes should never have been involved, but Vixen Media Group now seems to agree with PETA that stressing sensitive wildlife is cruel, not sexual,” says PETA senior vice president Lisa Lange. “Keeping wild animals out of the bedroom is no problem, and keeping them out of the set.”
Snakes have highly specialized needs and require precise lighting, heat, and humidity to regulate body temperature. In addition, they naturally avoid contact with people, so if touched they can become vulnerable to illness and injury. Most reptiles are caught in their natural wild habitats and then sold in large quantities by breeders. It is estimated that at least 75% of “domestic” reptiles, including snakes, die within one year – most due to the stress of intense restraint and handling of people.
PETA, whose motto is in part that “animals are not ours to abuse in any way,” is opposed to arrogance, a worldview focused on human superiority. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…
