Austin, TX – Tomorrow PETA protesters with posters demanding: “Austin Police: Get Lola away from her abuser!” attack the Austin Police Department, which sparked outrage by concluding that the brutal attacks on a camera named Lola did not violate any laws, and apparently leaving an apparently elderly disabled dog in the care of her abuser.

When: Tuesday, 11 May, 12 noon

Where: Austin Police Department, 715 E. Eighth Street (near the intersection with S. IH 35 Frontage Road), Austin

The video shows how a woman violently tugs on the dog’s leash, violently hits the old dog, lifts it by the tail and forces it to stand on its hind legs, holding it in a suffocating grip, and she screams in obvious despair. PETA is asking authorities to re-check evidence and bring all relevant charges – and is joining its members and supporters to flood the offices of the Austin Police Department, Travis County District Attorney, Austin City Council and Spencer City Manager. Kronk demands to save Lola.

“No one who hits and hits a dog, especially if it is so vulnerable, should not be trusted to care for the animal,” says Daphne Nachminovich, PETA’s senior vice president of cruelty investigations. “PETA calls on police to protect Lola by immediately removing her from her abuser.”
