Tuckerville, Okla. – PETA celebrates the U.S. Department of Justice’s seizure of all Endangered Species Act (ESA) large cats from King of tigers items by Jeff and Lauren Lowe. Below you can find a statement from the PETA Foundation’s Deputy General Counsel for Bond Enforcement Brittany Peet, who appeared on the Netflix series:
There are no tigers left in Tiger King Park, and the Lowe family’s terror against endangered big cats could soon be over. If PETA has its own way, these King of tigers the villains will lose all other animals under their care.
The Justice Department’s suit, which PETA has offered to join, builds on arguments and precedent set by the winning lawsuit against Lowe’s former business partner Tim Stark, in which PETA confiscated three lions from Lowe’s custody. They are now healthy at a wildlife sanctuary in Colorado.
