Seattle – Tomorrow PETA will give Starbucks one or two for refusing to cancel the vegan milk surcharge. Protesters will walk to the company’s headquarters with a life-size “dead calf” support in a pool of blood inside a Starbucks cup, while PETA representatives will attend the chain’s virtual annual meeting to point it out, while Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson acknowledged that cow’s milk is the company’s biggest source of carbon dioxide emissions, and he refused to put money where the mouth is.

    When: Wednesday, March 17, 10:00

Where: Starbucks Headquarters, 2401 Utah Ave. S., Seattle

“Despite the verbal claims of sustainability, the proof is the pudding: Starbucks is profitable all over the planet,” says PETA executive vice president Tracy Reiman. “PETA is urging the company to end punishing people who care about animals and the environment by immediately eliminating this premium.”

In the dairy industry, cows are artificially inseminated: workers insert a hand into the animal’s rectum and a metal rod into the vagina, and their calves are taken from them during the day after birth. Every person who goes vegan saves the lives of nearly 200 animals every year. and reduces its own carbon footprint. According to the United Nations, a global vegan diet will help combat the worst effects of climate change.

PETA, whose motto is, in part, “The animals are not ours to eat,” is also holding a protest outside the Starbucks Pike Place Market on its 50th Street.th anniversary later this month.

    When: March 30, Tuesday, 12:00

Where: Starbucks at Pike Place Market, 1912, Pike Place, Seattle

PETA stands against racism, a worldview based on human superiority. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…
